did you know...
...that it might be a wise investment to get a professional copy writer to write your web content? ...that your website address should be included in every single print document, brochure, business card or email signature? |
development & design
Regardless of the scope of a project, we include most, if not all, of the steps below in our work. Since we do this work with you and for you, the list gives you a guideline of what is involved.
The same steps can be used for other types of design projects, but we'll refer to web design here.
these are the steps:

Includes meetings and discussions with individuals or groups about their ideas, plans and requirements for a web presence. Technical support and discussion around what is realistically possible and feasible and what is likely not.
Analyzing requirements, assessing feasibility, written recommendation and approximate time lines for the development based on the discussions from the prior consultation.
Outline of the workflow requirements for the project. Timelines and formats for the provision of content. Development of a content flow plan.
Search for appropriate photos and/or images to include (customers may have their own, or we'll provide). Create a navigational structure and graphic concept, a prototype, that is accepted by the client. Present the concept to customer and receive approval before continuing work.
Build the website from the concept with the content received from the client and/or marketing writer. Stay within the parameters of the agreed concept/prototype.
Put the draft website online for review, accessible by the client only. Clients proof and review the work pages and make comments/corrections and point out any inaccuracies.
Make final corrections based on feedback and minor changes. At this time requests for major design or structural changes will be outside of the original work agreement.
Upon final signed approval, launch the new (or renovated) website onto the client's live hosting server and monitor the funtionality.
Keeping the content of a website accurate and fresh is important to its success. We do maintenance by demand and charge for our time, or, maintenance agrements that includes regular website promotion can be negotiated.;
clarity is the key!
These steps are vey useful in keeping a project moving forward and can be used to measure the progress. If all parties look at the same list there is more clarity.
