Buckminster Fuller:

"When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished,
if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong."

did you know...

...that the Internet is now the first place people go to look for products and services?

...that usability, is a critical factor when developing a website?

...that reading from computer screens is about 25% slower than reading from paper.

...that the latest, greatest, bleeding edge technologies aren't necessarily the best options to use for your website.

our services

We cater to the small businesses who want to represent themselves professionally on the Internet and in print, who want personal service by knowledgable, experienced people who'll help them pull it all together.

from "how much?" to "how?"

The question we hear most often is: "How much do you charge for a website?" We think it's a bit like asking a car dealer "How much for a vehicle?".

As this question raises more questions, let us ask you:

  • Do you have a domain registered and where, a hosting company selected, an exsisting site to renovate, know the platform it runs on?
  • Do you want to advertise a product or service, sell a product or service, sell or take money deposits online, reach a specific audience?
  • Do you have a marketing plan in which a website is included? Do you have a development budget?

Often, the puzzled, slightly panicked look on faces tells us that we need to get from the "How much" to the "How".

we know how!

If you have a small business and are at all unclear about what is really required for a website to be successful, get informed first. Book one hour of our time for a non-binding general consultation, it should get you started and help you with your planning.

The 60 minutes will be yours to discuss web development or any related computing and/or design matter that may be on your mind. If you are then interested in any of our services, we'll follow up with a written estimate.

Larger businesses or organizations should generally allocate a lot more time for planning and analysis and build this time into their website development budget. Developing or renovating a large website without specifications and a clear understanding of the requirements, can turn out to be a very frustrating and expensive undertaking.

We provide estimates for any of our services with or without personal consultation for a fee for time. For our customers' convenience we accept deposits and payments online.

Technical Communications is a blog (web log) that dispenses technical tips and solutions that for some 'geeks' seem very obvious but may be very helpful to those who have asked us for help.
